Laura joined the Bits to Energy Lab in Mai 2023. She holds a B.A. in psychology (2016-2019), a B.A. in biology (2018-2022) and a M.Sc. in clinical psychology from the University of Vienna (2019-2021). Her master’s thesis focused on the relationship between listening to music, chronic stress and skin barrier recovery. During her work as clinical psychologist (2021 – 2023) and her further training as behavioral psychotherapist she gained a deep understanding of the human psyche and behavior.
Laura’s work focuses on designing digitally transformed information systems, emphasizing the cognitive mechanisms they influence and the behavioral outcomes they produce. Her current research explores the role of (meta)cognitive processes in shaping and resulting from human-technology interactions and interdependencies. She is especially interested in developing effective interventions to enhance human metacognition, with the goal of promoting the responsible use of intelligent systems in decision-making.
